Online Community? Yes!

Group of people smiling

It was so great to see members of my online yoga community, in the flesh.

Online community? No, that is not an oxymoron.

Yes, we practice yoga online. In fact, all of my programs are online—my one-on-one coaching, this amazing yoga tribe, my group coaching programs—and yes, we still have an amazing connection.

One student commented, “I know my fellow classmates better now than I did when we were doing yoga in the studio!”

We’re all social beings; we’re not meant to live in isolation. A sense of community is essential for us to thrive, especially as we age.

Research conducted by the National Institute on Aging tells us that isolation and loneliness are linked to higher risks for various mental conditions, including cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease.

And according to the Blue Zones, an organization who researches, studies and identifies the world’s longest, and best-lived populations, “...social connections can have long-term impact on your health and happiness.”

It doesn’t matter if your social connections come from a spouse, a family member or a friend. All that matters is a shared bond.

If you’d like to tap into one of my online communities and get all of the tools you need to remain relevant, active and vibrant as you age, reach out. We have a lot of fun:)
